It’s me, I’m the PC This is a very long and hopefully cinematic post Some background: So I’ve been in this one campaign for several months, with some amazing people who all have quickly become my best friends, and we’re playing an edgy game (formerly evil) and it’s the best experience in a ttrpg I’ve ever had. The game itself takes place right alongside rogue one, we were just exiting a Jedi temple underneath Jedha when the Empire test fires the DeathStar. Barely made it out alive. The cast: Juno(my character)- Inquisitor, Nightbrother, Alchemist, user of a dual lightsaber and the dark side of the force Strill(PC)-Mandalorian, slicer, computers enthusiast and all around good ally (except for when they almost got our ship blown up) Min Kho(PC)-Lurmen, explosives expert, a burgeoning force user and an excellent pilot R01AND(PC)- Protocol Droid, assassin, hidden past and hidden future Rook(NPC)-Mandalorian, Black sun operative, deadly in close range and skilled with a jet pack, current fighting pit champion on the Heliotrope. The party is currently on the casino station Heliotrope, where we are searching for someone to translate a message written in the Chiss language. We’re working our way to meet with the owner of the station, a high ranking member of the Black Sun crime syndicate and part of that is working our way through the fighting pits. Within the Brawling section R01AND has no trouble rising through the ranks, swiftly taking out all his opponents without breaking his cover as a protocol droid. Juno on the other hand, meets his match when he finally faces off against the Weapons section champion, a mando in red and black armor who is a crowd favorite; though he has also garnered a cult following in the station, masquerading through the fights as a Jedi. The start of the fight breaks out between Rook and Juno in a dark battlefield made of platforms floating in a double helix. Rook closes the distance quickly with her Jetpack and steadies her forcepike but Juno manages to narrowly evade. The fight continues in much the same fashion, barely trading hits on eachother and deftly parrying blows, before Juno disappears behind a platform for a moment and his lightsaber which was a pale green before is suddenly trailing a sickly green smoke. He runs up to the familiarly armored Mandalorian and slides under her attack, bringing his lightsaber around and slicing across her jetpack and back. As he gets up they trade a few blows, before Rook backs up and looses a lightwhip from her gauntlet and flinging it at Juno. He tries to parry but it’s much less solid than he anticipated, and in doing so is disarmed of his lightsaber as it skitters to the edge of the platform. He runs and picks it up on the way to once again attack Rook, and he dances around her hamstringing her and destroying the jetpack. Though she keeps up with his footwork and lands a solid punch right into this sternum, knocking the wind out of his lungs. With her superior mobility gone Rook says to Juno, “You’re no kriffing Jedi, I’m the one who’s supposed to cheat” as she runs in to attack once more, getting in close before she stomps on the back of Juno’s calves. His retaliation is swift though as he hears a pop as he dislocates her shoulder. She backs up, holding her now bad arm. “Let’s give them what they paid for. Finish this.” She says as she flicks her wrist and the lightwhip extends towards Juno, wrapping around his left arm as she jumps backwards off the platform. The grows taught at the edge of it, and in a moment of searing pain it goes slack, falling of the edge still wrapped around Juno’s forearm. As another platform rises up from below, Rook stands triumphantly upon it, the severed arm lying by her feet. Enraged and in pain, Juno ignites the other end of his lightsaber behind him, revealing a second blade of pale green light emanating from a beautifully crafted hilt. He raises it and jumps towards Rook and slashes across her chest before spinning it around and bringing the pale-green blade up under her helmet as she drops to the ground. Having won the fight with the odds stacked heavily against him, Juno slumps to the ground, exhausted and badly wounded. Thus concludes the best fight I have ever had, a Dathomirian versus a Mandalorian, culminating in me being the first player for my GM to have lost a limb and adding the most Star Warsy edge to an already edgy character build.
